1. Program Name

BraveBot — operated by TheraLoop AI, Inc.

2. Program Description

BraveBot is an AI-assisted tool that supports psychotherapy homework.

It is currently offered only as part of a research study conducted in collaboration with Mass General Brigham.

Participants receive SMS reminders and secure links to complete therapy homework assigned by their clinician.

3. Research Status and Intended Use

BraveBot is an investigational tool and has not been established as safe or effective outside of the research study.

BraveBot:

Is used only by enrolled study participants
Must be used under clinician supervision
Supports therapy homework only
Does not replace a therapist or healthcare provider
Does not provide medical advice or crisis support

If you are in immediate distress, call 988 or seek emergency care.

4. Consent to Receive Messages (Opt-In)

Participants (and parents/guardians for minors) provide express written consent via IRB-approved consent/assent forms before receiving messages. You can review the IRB-approved consent form.

Consent includes:

Agreement to receive SMS reminders
Understanding of message frequency and content
Acknowledgment that BraveBot is part of a research study
Disclosure that messages are sent via Twilio

Upon enrollment, you will receive a one-time welcome SMS message when your phone number is added into the system by your clinician. By consenting, you agree to receive recurring SMS messages from BraveBot related to your therapy homework.

5. Message Frequency

You may receive up to 3 messages per day on days when homework is assigned.

Messages are typically sent around:

7:00 AM
3:00 PM
6:00 PM (Eastern Time)

Not all days will include messages.

6. Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier.

TheraLoop does not charge for SMS messages.

7. Opt-Out and Help

Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving SMS. Reply HELP to any message for assistance.

You may also contact your clinician, the research team (jssteinberg@mgb.org), or email support@theraloop.ai.

After opting out, no further messages will be sent unless you re-enroll.

Opting out will not affect your ability to continue to receive therapy, but you will no longer be able to use BraveBot.

8. Privacy

We do not sell or share your information for marketing.

9. No Medical Advice

BraveBot does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

All clinical care decisions should be made with your licensed clinician.
