1. Introduction

TheraLoop AI, Inc. ("TheraLoop," "we," "us," or "our") operates BraveBot, an AI-assisted platform designed to support psychotherapy homework. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our services, including SMS messaging.

Important: BraveBot is currently available only as part of a research study conducted with Mass General Brigham. It is designed to support therapy homework under clinician supervision and is not a standalone treatment or replacement for a licensed clinician.

2. Research Use and Scope of Service

BraveBot is an investigational tool being evaluated in an Institutional Review Board (IRB)-approved research study.

It is used only by participants enrolled in the study
It is used under the supervision of a treating clinician
It supports therapy homework (e.g., exposure practice)
It does not provide diagnosis, treatment, or crisis care

BraveBot has not yet been proven safe or effective outside of this research setting.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

Contact Information

Mobile phone numbers and/or email addresses provided by participants and/or parents/guardians for SMS reminders

Therapy Homework Data

Exposure descriptions, completion status, and session activity

Usage Data

Interaction logs (e.g., timestamps, page visits)

Consent Records

Documentation of consent and assent for research participation

4. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only for the purposes of operating and evaluating BraveBot within the research study:

Sending SMS homework reminders (up to 3 messages per day on assigned days)
Providing secure links to therapy homework sessions
Supporting clinicians in monitoring progress
Conducting research under IRB-approved protocols

We do not use your information for advertising.

5. SMS Messaging (Twilio)

We use Twilio to deliver SMS reminders. Messages may include homework reminders and secure session links. Your phone number is shared only with Twilio for message delivery and is not used for marketing.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We only share information as needed to operate the service:

Twilio — to deliver SMS messages
Treating clinicians — to support your care
Research team — for IRB-approved research (de-identified where possible)

We do not share data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including:

Encryption in transit (TLS)
Secure authentication with multi-factor authentication
HIPAA-compliant infrastructure via Render

Access to data is limited to authorized clinicians and research staff.

Because BraveBot is part of an investigational system, its use involves participation in a research environment where risks are being studied and monitored.

8. Your Rights

You may opt out of SMS messages at any time
You may request access to or deletion of your data
You may withdraw from the research study at any time

Withdrawing will not affect your clinical care, but may prohibit you from using BraveBot.
